The purpose of the Festival is to expose Arkansas's youth to the exciting and engaging world of STEM and to ignite their interests and motivation for these disciplines.

The Arkansas STEM Festival is the premiere showcase of STEM in the state of Arkansas

Lisa Academy partners with USA Science Festival and UALR Education Pioneers Club to host third Annual Arkansas STEM Festival to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math in Little Rock. Tens of exploration stations will provide hands-on activities that bring opportunity for engagement and exchange between children, teens, families, and local STEM professionals.


Individual / Small Groups

Parents can admire their children’s impressive work or bring younger children to be inspired by the work of other children.

Educators are welcome to see the festival at their own pace.

Field Trip

Teachers can arrange field trips for their students and may also arrange in advance for a UALR campus tour to take place before or after the festival. Specifically;

STEM Teachers can bring their students to engage with the projects at the festival.

Art Teachers can bring their students to engage them with art and other STEM projects.

Project Submission

Students may construct their own projects to demonstrate at the festival.

STEM Teachers can work with their students to construct a project to be presented at the festival.

Art Teachers can guide their students so that the students are able to create and submit their artwork.


Electronics and Programming Hobbyists now have a place to bring their work out into the world.

Artists have a great way to showcase their work to a large, engaged audience.

Businesses can showcase their products and expertise to the audience.

Why YOU should attend The Arkansas STEM Festival

The Arkansas STEM Festival is an incredible event just because of the sheer number of benefits and experiences it provides. The 100+ engaging demonstrations at the festival are a sight to behold! It is among the largest meetings of the Arkansas STEM community in the entire state and is an ideal field trip destination as it is completely free and highly educational for students of all ages. In fact, the beauty of The Arkansas STEM Festival is that there is benefit for anyone who attends the festival! Presenting students obtain numerous valuable experiences. Including presenting their work to a large and engaging audience, meeting with and discussing STEM with experts in their fields, teaching others about STEM, learning about STEM from others and from STEM focused companies, hearing influential STEM figures speak, and even the opportunity to be recognized for their work! Students who aren’t presenting a project at the festival have much to see and do as well! They can learn from and engage with the various demonstrations, especially the hands-on demonstrations throughout the festival, enjoy the art exhibition, and even take a tour of the UALR campus. And parents and adults can come to the festival and admire their child’s work, view the artwork at the new art exhibition, and learn about STEM from knowledgeable students, hobbyists, and businesses from across the state.

Our Theme - “Hello, World!”

The state of Arkansas has become a leader in computer science and programming education. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a bill in 2015 that made Arkansas the very first state in the nation to pass a law requiring all public and   charter high schools to provide computer science courses to its students. Governor Hutchinson’s work towards making Arkansas the leading state in computer science and programming education has been recognized as highly beneficial and is now being copied by many government officials, including President Barack Obama, who set aside $4 billion for nationwide computer science education. The 2nd annual Arkansas STEM Festival Highlight

It was held on February 26, 2016 at UALR. This event was a great success with over 3000 in attendance. Many students from across the state attended to be engaged by the over 150 interactive STEM projects. Many public officials came to support STEM in Arkansas. Guest speaker Duane Carey was certainly a hit with students and adults alike. This event will be held annually with the intention of promoting and fostering a love of STEM and STEM careers in students across the state of Arkansas.
